FME Connector is a miniature 50Ω RF connector series offering excellent performance from DC to 2.0 GHz used with primarily with RG-58 or equivalent coaxial cables employed in mobile applications and installations.

The FME female is designed to allow cables it has been installed on to be snaked through the often tight access holes or spaces of a vehicle to the desired equipment location(s) where an FME male adapter to the required equipment connector series is fitted to the female cable connector.

There is an extensive array of FME inter-series adapters available and a male cable connector is also offered for both RG-58 and RG-174 type cables to facilitate extensions, splices or transitions.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – 2/2/2011 – L-com, Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products is now offering low-loss coax cable assemblies featuring FME (For Mobile Equipment) connectors. These miniature 50Ω RF connectors allow cables to be snaked through tight access holes or spaces. FME connectors are commonly used in cellular communication devices as well as low frequency mobile antenna applications.

"FME connectors are the perfect complement to our already broad coax line," said Patrick Pesa, Product Manager. "They are popular because they have screw-down termination like the SMA connector, but are low-profile to fit through holes. I think our customers will be glad we added them."

These high-quality, fully-tested cable assemblies are built with L-com's CA-195 low-loss coax cable. Standard assemblies include FME to FME and FME to BNC. Along with standard cable assemblies, custom cable assemblies can be configured using the on-line Product Configurator.
